Welcome to Rangitikei

The Rangitikei District is dominated by the Rangitikei River, New Zealand’s fifth longest waterway, and, if you believe the locals, its most beautiful. Peter Jackson certainly did: he cast the Rangitikei as the Anduin, the Great River of Wilderland in The Fellowship of The Ring.

Along the river are the towns of Taihape, Mangaweka, Hunterville, Marton and Bulls, which service the local farming communities as well as a steady stream of visitors. This is a unique district: you can buy a wooly jumper straight off the sheep’s back, drink milk straight from the cow, ride a cable car to the 19th hole of one of the worlds most spectacular golf courses, hurtle through space on an epic flying fox and ride a raft straight through the North Island’s main fault line. A beautiful place to live, work and do business.
